A Chapter of the International Chabad Children's Network
CKids Hebrew School Sierra Vista is an official chapter of the CKids network. The lessons, activities and resources they provide bring our Jewish values and traditions to life and have changed the game for kids’ Jewish involvement, experiences, and education.
Our Mission Statement
CKids Hebrew School Sierra Vista offers an outstanding program that will give your child a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Judaism and will instill in him/her the faith, beauty and values of our heritage. At Chabad, we firmly believe that your child's Jewish learning experience should be fun, upbeat and interesting.
By the time students complete the fun and interactive learning experience at Hebrew School, they will not only know how to read and write Hebrew and have acquired basic Hebrew language skills, they will have gained an appreciation for the who, what, when and why of Jewish life and want to be a part of it.
NEW This Year
For the 2024/2025 school year, CKids Hebrew school will also include a weekly toddler class for ages 2 - 5, alongside the older class. The children will be introduced to the Hebrew Aleph Beis and to basic concepts in Jewish tradition and values. Role-playing, arts & crafts, hands-on experiences and songs will be incorporated to make the lessons enjoyable.
We will meet at Chabad on Sundays from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. See calendar below for complete schedule.
The Curriculum
Both classes will be using the excellent and innovative new curriculum called “Lighthouse: Making My Home Hashem's Home,” developed by the International Chabad Children’s Network (CKids). Throughout the year, students will explore how we can make Hashem (G‑d) feel welcome in our world, through the Mitzvot we do in our daily lives. Inspired by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, each lesson centers on ways to make our homes a place where Hashem is known. Topics include celebrating Shabbat, making blessings, honoring parents, giving charity, and much more. And of course, each lesson includes different hands-on STEM activities for each age group that will keep the kids excited and engaged at every step!
Holiday Family Programs
For the holiday lessons, both classes will join together with age-appropriate lessons, crafts and activities. These lessons are marked with a holiday image.
Families of all backgrounds and affiliations are made to feel welcome at Chabad. CKids Hebrew School is affordable and no Chabad membership is required. Payment arrangements can be made by calling us. Please let us know if you would like to take advantage of a scholarship. No child will be turned away due to lack of funds.
Registration is required. The form is available here.
To enroll your child(ren) in CKids Hebrew School Sierra Vista, all forms must be submitted. Enrollment is considered to be for the entire school year. Parent(s) acknowledge that CKids Hebrew School serves children who are able to function successfully in a group setting.
